Five NHL bets for Tuesday's slate

Another solid-looking slate awaits in the NHL. Time to get right in this market, and we've got a grab bag of assorted bets for your consideration.

Chris Kreider goal (+195 CZR)

As I was scanning the board today, a reminder popped up on my phone: "Look at the Rangers third line against Pittsburgh today."

Who am I to question the directive passed down by Past Griffin? A quick glance back confirms what I was seeing: members of the third line have been getting shots and goals off on the Penguins of late.

The three names tonight that fit the bill are Chris Kreider, Vincent Trocheck and Jimmy Vesey. Now, Kreider's point is only -128, a fine option and one I may add into a parlay later today, but I can't pass up his goal prop here.

Kreider had eight goals in 11 games against Pittsburgh last year. Point is safer, I'm going for goal. No pressure, iPhone reminder, but this one is on you.

Tony DeAngelo over 1.5 SOG & Pierre-Luc Dubois point (+130 DK)

Tony DeAngelo is in an awesome spot this evening against a Columbus team allowing north of 36 shots per game on the road. The Blue Jackets get peppered by defensemen and have struggled with penalties, two factors that work beautifully for DeAngelo's benefit.

The Philly defenseman has 2+ shots in 11 of 15 home games this year and 13 of his past 16 overall. He has 2+ in four of his last five against the Blue Jackets, including both games this season.

We'll pair him with Pierre-Luc Dubois to register a point to bring this play to plus-money. Dubois and Winnipeg should be good for 3-4 goals tonight, Ottawa tends to be much softer on the road.

Dubois has 15 points over his past 10 games, has registered a point in 13 of 16 at home this season, and had three points in two meetings with the Senators last season.

Alex DeBrincat over 3.5 SOG (+102 FD)

I'm comfortable looking to Ottawa for some shots this evening. Well actually, let me make an addendum there: I'm comfortable looking to the Senators' studs for shots tonight.

I'd expect Ottawa to circle around 30 total shots as a team against Winnipeg, but it's guys like DeBrincat who continue to be involved no matter the opponent. DeBrincat has covered his shots in four straight games, two of which have come on the road. His attempts are way up of late, and as long as he's plus-money I have to consider his shots.

He had four SOG in each of the past two meetings with the Jets.

Blues-Kraken over 5.5 & Kings over 2.5 goals in regulation (+130 DK)

This combination is a relatively straightforward one: I've been scouring the teams for some points props, and the only one I'm in love with is Jordan Kyrou.

Instead of looking for my favorite players to be involved, I'll just move some totals down and load up a two-leg parlay. With Thomas Greiss in net for St. Louis, I like the Kraken to chip in some goals, and the Blues have been rolling and should continue against Martin Jones, who has allowed 23 goals in his last five starts.

Then we've got Los Angeles against Anaheim with a significant power-play edge coming as well. By all means, move the Kings up to 3.5 here; it's -140 in regulation.

Nazem Kadri over 3.5 SOG (+114 FD)

Kadri is humming along for Calgary of late, piling up 16 shots over his last three games. One of those was Sunday in San Jose, the same scenario that presents itself here tonight.

Kadri is averaging 7.4 shot attempts per game over his last five, with a nice bulk of his volume coming on the power play, logging 12 PP shots over his past 10.

The Sharks have had their struggles with penalties lately, averaging 3.9 power play opportunities per game in the last 10 games.

I like Kadri to keep shooting.
