The Calgary Flames have re-signed forward Andrew Mangiapane to a three-year contract carrying a $5.8 million annual cap hit, the club announced Tuesday.
Mangiapane, 26, set new career-high marks with 35 goals, 20 assists, 55 points and 82 games played with the Flames during the 2021-22 regular season.
The 5-foot-10, 184-pound winger added three goals and six points in 12 playoff games as the Flames fell to the Edmonton Oilers in the second round.
Mangiapane, as a restricted free agent, had been scheduled to head to salary arbitration with the Flames later this month.
The Flames originally selected Mangiapane in the sixth round (No. 166 overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft. The Toronto product debuted with the Flames during the 2017-18 season and emerged as a regular in the lineup down the stretch in 2018-19.
In 260 career regular-season games with the Flames, Mangiapane has scored 78 goals and 132 points. He’s also registered six goals and 12 points in 27 career playoff games.
Mangiapane is set to potentially become an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career when his new contract expires in 2025.
