Colorado Avalanche left wing Gabriel Landeskog (92) Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Gabriel Landeskog is expected to miss the entire season on the ice, but he’s sure staying busy off of it.

And I’m not just talking about his rehab from knee surgery.

49ers’ Enterprises, the same group that currently owns the San Francisco 49ers of the NFL, assumed full control of Leeds United this week in the Championship League. Leeds was relegated from the Premier League recently.

On Monday, Big League Advantage, who is a minority owner of Leeds, announced a group of eight celebrities who will be investing in the club. And one of them just so happens to be Gabriel Landeskog.

In addition to the Avalanche captain, former Avalanche defenseman Erik Johnson is investing in the club, along with Olympic legend Michael Phelps.

Landeskog, who will be spending the next several months trying to recover from cartilage transplant surgery on his right knee, has previously invested with Johnson in horse racing, so this isn’t necessarily new to him. I would have to imagine investing in an English Football Club is a bit more of a sure thing, though.

If Leeds are able to get back into the Premier League eventually, Landeskog can compete against the owner of his current team, Stan Kroenke. The Avalanche owner is also the owner of Arsenal of the EPL, who finished second in the league last season.
