Kings fan left bloodied, with broken nose by puck before season opener
A Los Angeles Kings season-ticket holder had literal injury added to the insult of missing Tuesday's campaign-opening 4-3 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights.
As explained by TMZ Sports and Justin Tasch of the New York Post, a Kings fan named Jeremy Aaronson attempted to attend Tuesday's contest at Crypto.com Arena along with his 11-year-old son before he took a puck to his forehead and nose while the hosts were warming up. Aaronson was transported to a local medical facility while his son stayed behind to catch the action with friends, and the victim of the sailed shot told TMZ he suffered a broken nose to go along with a cut on his forehead.
Aaronson later noted that nobody within the Kings checked on him following the incident:
Tasch reported on Thursday afternoon that a Kings spokesperson says the club "reached out to Aaronson on Wednesday" and was "able to connect with him."
It's unclear exactly what the Kings plan to do for the injured Aaronson, who lived up to a "hockey guy" status by watching a portion of Tuesday's game on his phone during the ambulance ride.
Aaronson will require additional treatment from a nose specialist once the swelling goes down.
Meanwhile, the 0-1-0 Kings will next host the 0-0-1 Seattle Kraken on Thursday evening. Perhaps Aaronson will consider wearing a face shield if he's able to attend that or future matchups.
