Prior to a full-team practice ahead of their departure for Philadelphia, the Pittsburgh Penguins saw a couple of injured players take to the ice.

According to Dave Molinari, Rickard Rakell and Chad Ruhwedel skated on their own ahead of their Penguins teammates.

Rakell has missed six games with an upper-body injury and was placed on long-term injured reserve on Novemebr 21.

Ruhwedel was also confirmed to have an injury that day, but only placed on regular injured reserve with a lower-body injury.

The Penguins have been forced to make a few different lineup moves in their absence and this seems likely to be the first time they’ve skated since suffering their respective injuries.

Matt Nieto and Noel Acciari missed the Penguins last contest with lower-body injuries and were still being evaluated prior to puck drop.

Their status is still unclear as neither took the ice for practice.
