Christmas is approaching, and perhaps the LA Kings organization received a Christmas miracle on Monday morning.
After taking a hit to the head in the Ontario Reign’s 6-4 loss to the Bakersfield Condors just over a week ago, Alex Turcotte has been sidelined for the last three games as a result of the hit. We have some good news to report! While attending the LA Kings practice, Hockey Royalty’s own Russell Morgan captured a photo of Turcotte skating in a red no-contact jersey.
This lines up with what I was told on Saturday by Reign Insider Jared Shafran when I asked him about an update on Turcotte. The answer I received was “he might have skated within the past 24 hours,” but it wasn’t a sure answer and he would have to check back in with me. Turcotte skating in a red-no contact jersey today backs up what Shafran told me after Marco Sturm’s postgame interview on Saturday. While it’s a red no-contact jersey, it’s a great sign that Turcotte is skating, and hopefully, he can get back into game action sooner rather than later for the Ontario Reign.
