Valtteri Puustinen and Jesse Puljujarvi will play a little more hockey this season. The Pittsburgh Penguins wingers were named to Team Finland for the 2024 IIHF World Championships.

The tournament is being held May 10-26 in Prague and Ostrava, Czechia.

Puustinen, 24, won a silver medal with Finland at the 2021 World Championships, and Puljujarvi played with Team Finland in 2017. This is the second trip to the Worlds for both players.

Puustinen had 20 points and five goals in 52 NHL games this season. In December, Puljujarvi signed a free-agent tryout deal with the Penguins after having double hip surgery last summer. He later signed a professional tryout deal with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL to get into game shape, then signed a two-year NHL deal on Feb. 4.

Puljujarvi scored three goals with four points in 22 NHL games.

Friday, Penguins winger Michael Bunting was named to Team Canada.
