The Penguins' season schedule is here ... with a little help from Jeff Carter.

The Penguins' video promoting the schedule release stars Carter and his son, Caden, and daughter, Emersyn. Carter is hanging out in his back yard on the riding mower the team gifted him as a retirement gift, when his kids bring him the schedule delivery. And Carter .... well, yeah, that's not his problem anymore:

Some of the big notes from this year's slate of games:

• The Penguins open at home against the Rangers, then head right to Detroit for a back-to-back game. It's one of 14 sets of back-to-backs.

• Of the Penguins' home games, 46% are on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

• The first big road trip of the season is western Canada, with Winnipeg included within that trip this year.

• The traditional home game the day before Thanksgiving is Nov. 27 against the Canucks. Always a good crowd.

• Utah Hockey Club visits for the first time on Nov. 23. The Penguins' first trip to Utah concludes a long road trip from Jan. 17-29 that goes from Buffalo, to Washington, then out west to Los Angeles, Anaheim, Seattle and San Jose before wrapping up in Utah.

• The last road game of the season is April 11 in New Jersey.

• The regular season wraps up with a pair of home games -- April 13 against the Bruins and April 17 vs. Washington.

The full schedule can be found here. Broadcast information will be released at a later date.
