My player to watch for the St. Louis Blues against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday is defenseman Scott Perunovich.

Since being re-inserted into the lineup five games ago, Perunovich has shown some of his best flashes on the ice with five assists, including a point in four of them.

Playing alongside Marco Scandella has allowed Perunovich to jump into the rush from his defensive position and the two have meshed together well.

With Justin Faulk (lower-body) out of the lineup, Perunovich will be counted on not only to continue to establish himself on the defensive side but he a viable option offensively, including running the second unit power play.

He's had a good run here and will get another strong test against a very staunch Carolina squad.
