The LA Kings have announced that forward Quinton Byfield has been placed on the league’s COVID-19 protocol list.

Quinton Byfield, 19, has had rough luck this season, as he was out for two months due to an ankle injury suffered in the preseason. He was recently assigned to the Ontario Reign when he was cleared to play and had zero points through four games played there.

Byfield was called up to the NHL on Monday, and it appears as though he was set to make his season debut soon, but with the season on pause and now his assignment to the COVID protocol list, it looks like that will have to wait.

Sean Durzi and Christian Wolanin were also recalled from the Ontario Reign to the LA Kings roster, while Samuel Fagemo and Alex Turcotte were re-assigned to the American Hockey League.
