Famous rapper Snoop Dogg, AKA Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., was in Montreal in the frame of the Formula 1 festivities that took place during the weekend, and as per usual, he managed to bring forth a link with the local fans, as he wore a t-shirt featuring Canadiens defenceman Arber Xhekaj.

Seeing as it is one of the premiere events hosted in a city known for its joie de vivre, there’s always a heavy dose of celebrities and musicians that make their way to Montreal to take part in the fun. Various Montreal Canadiens players attend, with Rafael Harvey-Pinard and Xhekaj representing the team during various galas in 2024.

It’s one of the most entertaining weekends of the year, though it is clearly not the type of event that you’d attend if you aren’t financially stable.

In other words, you better Get That Money before you head to Montreal during the F1 weekend.

Snoop Dogg had a concert scheduled for June 9 at the Bell Centre, part of his Cali To Canada Tour, featuring many of his classic songs, including Gin And Juice, Nuthin’ But A G Thang, and Ain’t No Fun.

His concerts are always highly entertaining, especially since he makes an effort to connect with local fans every time he heads on tour.

This was definitely the case during his show in Montreal, as he wore a rather interesting shirt, which featured none other than Montreal Canadiens defenceman Xhekaj.

It was part of a new merchandise line rolled out by Death Row Records in conjunction with a handful of hockey players who are known for their rough-and-tumble style of play.

In addition to Xhekaj, former Canadiens fighters Chris Nilan and Georges Laraque will take part in the merchandise launch. Current Toronto Maple Leafs player Ryan Reaves and Flyers prospect Denver Barkley are included as well.

Of course, the goal for Death Row Music is to make money, but it’s always entertaining to see a crossover in the cultural sense, as rap and hockey haven’t always been two closely linked industries.
