The Ottawa Senators waived defenseman Michael Del Zotto on Tuesday for the purposes of a buyout.

Del Zotto, 32, was set to make $2.25 million in 2022-23.

He tallied 13 points (three goals, 10 assists) in 2021-22, his only season in Ottawa. For his career, Del Zotto has 262 points (63 goals, 199 assists) in 736 games played with eight teams in 13 seasons.

Del Zotto was picked No. 20 overall by the New York Rangers in the 2008 draft. He played four-plus seasons with the Rangers.
