The Ottawa Senators have traded forward Kole Sherwood to the Nashville Predators on Tuesday in exchange for future considerations, the team announced.

Sherwood has one goal and four points in 13 games with the AHL’s Belleville Senators this season. He signed a one-year, two-way contract with the team this past summer after spending the previous three seasons with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Predators have described him as an undrafted, 6-foot-1, 212-pound forward who won the 2016 league title with London and tallied a combined 179 points (75g-104a) in 180 games. Sherwood, 24, has one assist in six career NHL games, all with the Blue Jackets. He posted three goals and four points in nine games with the AHL’s Cleveland Monsters last season.

He is the brother of Colorado Avalanche forward Kiefer Sherwood.

As for what the future considerations are, it’s not expected to much of anything and this just opens up a contract spot for Ottawa.
