The Dallas Stars have been scoring at a record pace. Last November, Dallas was on pace for a team-record seven 20-goal scorers. Fast forward to March 26, when the Stars took on the San Jose Sharks at the SAP Center, won by a final of 6-3, and reached seven NHL players who scored at least 20 goals this season.

So, what’s next for the Stars? Read on for further insight from yours truly.

This epic Stars statistic arrived at the right time and right place.

Stars captain Jamie Benn has been on a tear lately. As of the night of March 28, Benn has recorded 19 points (nine goals and ten assists) after the Stars’ 3-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks. Benn is creeping in on the 20-goal mark, and while there are just a few weeks left in the regular season, anything is possible. It’s safe to say that the real Jamie Benn stood up and found his game again.

Stars forward Logan Stankoven probably won’t reach the 20-goal plateau this season, but I’d like to believe he could when he plays a full regular season. But, even if he doesn’t achieve this feat, Stankoven completes the Stars’ three lines as one of the several scoring threats. Anyway, I doubt he would get sent down to the AHL’s Texas Stars in Cedar Park, Texas, anytime soon.

It would be great to see nine, maybe ten, Stars players score 20-plus goals in a regular season. If not this season, then next season or later.

I believe this is the deepest Stars team in a while. Yes, there’s a chance that the Stars could fall short in the playoffs. The St. Louis Blues had nine 20-goal scorers in the 2021-22 NHL season but lost to the Colorado Avalanche in six games in the Second Round of the 2022 NHL playoffs. However, I’m optimistic and I think that the Stars will be alright come playoff time.

As I wrap up my Stars op-ed, I’ll leave this here for your reference and recollection.
