Here’s the corresponding roster move to Kyle Turris being put on waivers.

The Edmonton Oilers have called up Seth Griffith from the Bakersfield Condors of the AHL.

Griffith inked a two-year contract with the Oilers back in the 2020 off-season in order to be a veteran for the Condors down in the AHL. Thanks to some excellent production down in the minors, he’s earned a chance with the big league club.

Through 25 games this season, Griffith has nine goals and a team-high 33 points. He also scored 28 points over 39 games with the Condors in 2021, along with seven points over six playoff games.

Originally drafted in the fifth round of the 2012 draft by the Boston Bruins, Griffith has bounced around the league as an NHL-AHL tweener. He’s had stints with the Bruins, Maple Leafs, Panthers, Sabres, and now Oilers. All told, he has eight goals and 19 points over the course of 80 NHL games.

Griffith was called up to play one game for the Oilers back in mid-December when the team was dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak. He played 5:37 in Edmonton’s win over the Seattle Kraken, which, of course, was their last victory.
