On Sunday, the LA Kings activated forward Alex Turcotte off the league’s non-roster/COVID-19 list and loaned him back to the taxi squad. Along with this move, they’ve also assigned forward Martin Frk to the taxi squad and forward Austin Wagner to the Ontario Reign in the American Hockey League.

Turcotte, 20, entered the league’s protocols five days ago. He recently made his NHL debut and has played three games in the big leagues this season but has yet to register a point. He had three goals, 10 points through 18 games with the Reign in the AHL.

It’s worth noting that Alex Iafallo also returned to practice on Sunday but has yet to be officially activated from the COVID list.

Frk, 28, made his season debut against the Nashville Predators. He has one goal, which was on the power play, through two games played. In the AHL with the Reign, he has 29 points through 24 games played. It’s shocking that he’s already being taken off the main roster, as he looked solid in a limited sample size.

Wagner has yet to play in the NHL this season. He has four goals and seven points through 19 games played with the Reign but has not played since December 17. He was called up to the main roster yesterday, but it appears as though it was just a paper transaction.

The Kings host the New York Rangers on Monday with two games remaining on their seven-game homestand. As alluded to, Los Angeles is getting close to making some key roster decisions, especially with Andreas Athanasiou close to returning as well.
