On Wednesday afternoon, two players in the LA Kings organization received player of the month honors for January in their respective leagues.

TJ Tynan

Let’s start with TJ Tynan. The captain of the Ontario Reign dominated last month, particularly the second half of the month. In 14 games, Tynan recorded 25 points (3G – 22A) and had two four-assist games.

Tynan is heading into February on an eight-game point streak recording 19 points in that span. He’ll also be heading to the AHL all-star game that will take place in Laval later this week.

Brandt Clarke

Now let’s get to Brandt Clarke. After helping Canada win the gold at the world juniors, Clarke was loaned back to the OHL’s Barrie Colts. It’s safe to say that Clarke hasn’t missed a beat since being loaned back to the OHL. In nine games in January, Clarke recorded 20 points, including his first-ever OHL hat trick. Those numbers earned him OHL defenseman of the month

Not only was Clarke named the OHL defenseman of the month, but he was also named to the CHL team of the month which also featured the future number-one overall pick in this upcoming draft, Connor Bedard.

Not a bad month for both TJ Tynan and Brandt Clarke. Let’s see what February has in store for them.
