Forward Barrett Hayton has a new contract. He is signing with the Utah Hockey Club and will be part of the team for the next two years. Hayton will earn an AAV of $2.65 million over the course of this deal. The young forward remains part of the team’s plans, which is great to see.

Hayton Signs Contract With Utah

Hayton has been part of the franchise, formerly known as the Arizona Coyotes. He will now remain part of it for the foreseeable future. Hayton has the skill and can be a stable offensive presence and has shown that in his young career.

During the 2021-22 season, Hayton went on to score 10 goals and 24 points. Although, his career year was during the 2022-23 season. While playing in all 82 games for the Coyotes, Hayton scored a career high 19 goals and 43 points. He was unafraid to shooting the puck and became an added weapon on rhetorical power play.

The 2023-24 season was filled with injuries and limited him to 33 games. In those games, he finished with three goals and ten points. It’s a new season and a new start but a good contract for him.

What This Means For Hayton

The Hayton contract makes sense for both sides. Hayton can start fresh and focus on hockey. Having an injury riddled year is not fun, so he can regroup and come out strong. This is also good for Utah. Hayton is young and can be a key building block for this group. He has shown what he is capable of and has shown he can be a key contributor.

He is a great player to keep in the fold. With Clayton Keller paving the way and adding Josh Doan to the mix, things are looking up. There is a great injection of youth on this roster and Hayton is a good piece to have around.
