Can you smell that? That’s the smell of Colorado Avalanche hockey being just around the corner.

On Friday, the team released the roster for the Rookie Face-off Tournament that will take place next week in Las Vegas . Among the high profile names to watch on the Avalanche roster are former first round picks Oskar Olausson and Cal Ritchie, and NCAA UFA signings Sam Malinski and Ondrej Pavel.

Here’s a look at the full roster.

Here’s who, when, and where the Avalanche will play in the tournament:

Friday, Sept. 15 – ARI vs. COL, 3:30 p.m. PT, City National Arena (GHOST Energy Rink)

Sunday, Sept. 17 – COL vs. ANA, 1 p.m. PT, City National Arena (Summerlin Hospital Rink)

Monday, Sept. 18 – COL vs. VGK, 3 p.m. PT, City National Arena (Summerlin Hospital Rink)

Beyond those names above, some players to watch will be Jeremy Hanzel, Ivan Zhigalov, and Maris Jedlicka. The latter is coming over from Europe for the tournament, which is a good sign, because his team has already started playing preseason games.

Due to a wedding, I won’t be in Vegas to cover the tournament in person, but will watch the games and provide reports. Streaming hasn’t been announced, but the tournament is streamed every year, so everyone should be able to watch it.
