Trevor Kennison, a resident of Winter Park, hit a 40-foot jump in Vail's backcountry where he crashed and was forced to wait paralyzed for hours in a blizzard until first responders arrived to save him. Now, however, he stomps equally insane tricks... in a sit ski.

One day ago, Kennison posted footage of him landing a double backflip, writing, "it was so cool to have my mom and sister out to there to watch this." Watch below.

Trevor explains that you can see a big bomb hole from his first attempt in the video. He writes, "I ended up over rotating and back slapping. I rode away to the bottom and started crying from joy even though I didn’t really land it."

"This spot took so much from me so it was important that I stomped it!"

Kennison speaks about this loss the mountain took from him in his documentary Full Circle, released in 2023.

This clip is part of that documentary.

The film details not only his accident and recovery, but also Barry Corbet's (the Corbet of Corbet's Couloir in Jackson Hole!). The two faced challenges after traumatic spinal cord injuries 50 years apart, but refused to let their trauma limit their lives.

Kennison is seen as a record-breaking athlete, as well as an adaptive athlete. The things he does in a sit-ski are things most of us may never do, even on regular skis.

Watch the official trailer below.

Kennison explains in his Instagram video that he made corrections from the first attempt and slowed down the set of his backflip and made sure to wait patiently for the second rotation.

"Landing this and skiing to the bottom where my friends and family were standing was one of the best feelings in the world!"

There's really nothing more satisfying than smashing expectations from yourself and the world simultaneously, all while inspiring skiers worldwide.

Besides making an award-winning documentary about his life, Kennison has sit skied in the X Games, being the first adaptive athlete to hit a big air jump at said X Games.

As always, Kennison owns the hashtag #sitskiboss
