Former Liverpool and Newcastle United star Andy Carroll had the perfect start at new club Amiens.

The 34-year-old has signed for the French second division team last week, leaving League One's Reading.

Carroll came off the bench for his debut with his side level 1-1 against Guingamp in the league.

Carroll scored within 11 minutes to give his team a 2-1 lead, with Amiens going on to win the clash 4-1.

Gael Kakuta, a former Chelsea wonderkid, and Louis Mafouta scored the two late goals.

Carroll will be hoping he can continue to impress and possibly get chances to start games as well.
