Antonio Conte reportedly remaining at Tottenham following cash injection

Tottenham Hotspur supporters have enjoyed quite a successful week.

Tottenham secured a fourth-place Premier League finish and a berth in next season's UEFA Champions League competition via last Sunday's 5-0 thrashing of Norwich City, and that victory was followed by the news that owners ENIC will be injecting £150 million back into the club for "greater financial flexibility and the ability to further invest on and off the pitch."

Things got even better ahead of the weekend.

Matt Law of The Telegraph, Jack Pitt-Brooke of The Athletic, and ESPN all report that head coach Antonio Conte is expected to remain with Tottenham following a positive conversation with club managing director Fabio Paratici in Turin on Friday. Conte, who previously won league titles during stints with Juventus, Chelsea, and Inter Milan, took charge at Tottenham in November after the club parted ways with Nuno Espirito Santo and is set to be out of contract after next season.

It's unclear if Conte will put pen to paper on an extension before meaningful games resume in August.

Multiple outlets have said throughout the midweek that Conte wants at least six new signings early into the summer so he can bolster the squad and have those players in camp for the entire preseason. It's believed Tottenham could target one or two center backs, multiple wing backs, a play-making midfielder, and a striker to serve as a backup to England captain Harry Kane as Conte looks to challenge in the Premier League title race and battle on several other fronts.

As Alex Howell of BBC Sport noted, 34-year-old backup goalkeeper Fraser Forster is on track to join Tottenham on a free transfer.
