The agent of Lautaro Martinez has confirmed that the work is ongoing on a new contract at Inter Milan for the Argentine.

Martinez’s agent Alejandro Camano spoke to Italian news outlet FCInter1908. He stated that the 26-year-old is “very happy” at the Nerazzurri.

At the moment, Martinez is celebrating his first Serie A title as Inter captain.

The Argentine had already won the Scudetto with the Nerazzurri in 2021. But this time around, he has done so as the team’s captain and attacking talisman.

Martinez is certainly an important player for Inter, putting it mildly.

That’s why the Nerazzurri want to see the former Racing Club striker put pen to paper on a new contract.

Martinez’s current deal expires at the end of June 2026.

That is hardly the imminent future. But still, Inter want to secure Martinez’s future in the longer term.

The Argentine is a key pillar of the team that has won the Serie A title in dominant fashion.

And Inter feel that this team, led by Martinez, can keep winning trophies.

Agent Of Lautaro Martinez: “Very Happy At Inter, Working On New Contract”

Inter have been in talks with Martinez’s representatives for months now.

Reportedly, the Nerazzurri had been hoping to have a new deal agreed already as early as January.

However, so far the Inter captain has rejected the contract offers as not being high enough.

Nevertheless, that hardly means that Martinez doesn’t want to stay and sign a new deal.

Lautaro is very happy at Inter!” said the player’s agent.

“Right now, this is the moment for him to enjoy being champion with the fans,” Camano continued.

“He’s reached this great achievement, thanks to his work and that of his teammates. But also of the coaching staff and the club directors.”

As far as the Argentine’s contract extension, meanwhile, Camano said that “We’re working on the future.”
