After being eliminated from the UEFA Champions League last week, information is emerging regarding the future of Manchester City standout Bernardo Silva. The Portuguese player nearly left last year but remained with Pep Guardiola and his team for this campaign.

A recent report from Spain indicates that Silva is pretty much set on leaving Manchester City this summer, and he’s eyeing FC Barcelona as his top choice.

Plus, given his family ties to Barcelona, the seasoned playmaker seems to lean heavily towards joining the Blaugrana and playing in La Liga. But it’s not all smooth sailing for the Catalan club, as Paris Saint-Germain is also in the mix, providing some stiff competition.

Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano provided the latest regarding Silva in his column for CaughtOffside. Additionally, Romano dashed the hopes of Arsenal supporters, hoping that the Gunners could land the veteran playmaker.

“Arsenal did well when they signed both Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City almost two years ago, and now there’s been speculation from some outlets about them trying again to raid City, this time for Bernardo Silva,” Romano wrote.

“Sorry to disappoint any Arsenal fans who had got their hopes up, but I have zero information on Arsenal and Bernardo so far, to be honest. The Portugal international’s release clause is there for £50 million, but obviously Man City don’t want Bernardo to stay in the Premier League and play for one of their rivals.”

Silva’s agent, Jorge Mendes, who has a good relationship with PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos, may hold the key to where the former AS Monaco sensation will continue his career.
