According to reports in Italy, Aston Villa are prepared to meet the €15m asking price for Hellas Verona striker Cyril Ngonge, who was also linked to Fiorentina.

Tuttomercatoweb claim that the Premier League side have already sent scouts to view Ngonge in action several times this term and were impressed with his performances.

The 23-year-old Belgian only joined Verona as a free agent from Dutch side FC Groningen in January 2023, having previously played for RKC Waalwijk, Club Brugge and PSV Eindhoven.

Ngonge has four goals and two assists in 15 Serie A appearances so far this season, playing primarily on the right side of an attacking trio, although he can also work as a centre-forward or a support striker.

Including last term, he scored nine goals and provided three assists in 32 competitive games for the club.

While Verona would gladly keep hold of Ngonge, they could not turn down the likes of €15m, especially at a time when the club is facing an investigation over financial irregularities.
