Atalanta will face Premier League title chasers Liverpool in the Europa League quarter-final following the conclusion of the competition’s draw on Friday morning, but forward Ademola Lookman has tasted victory against Jurgen Klopp’s side on multiple occasions.

In fact, Lookman has won two of the last four matches he has played against Liverpool, drawing one and losing one from the remaining two.

While on loan with Leicester City in the Premier League back in 2021-22, Lookman scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Liverpool, squeezing through a gap between Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk, before smashing home past Alisson into the near post.

The Europa League quarter-final will the the seventh time Lookman has faced Liverpool in all competitions. Atalanta as a club have only met the Merseysideiders twice previously, in the Champions League group stages back in 2020.

Atalanta and Liverpool picked up three points apiece from their previous encounters, with Liverpool securing a 5-0 win in Bergamo and Atalanta then rising to a 2-0 victory at Anfield.
