Davide Ballardini and Leonardo Semplici are reportedly on the list of potential coaches to replace Filippo Inzaghi at Salernitana in the event that he is relieved of his duties in the coming weeks.

Inzaghi’s job is under serious threat following Salernitana’s 3-1 loss at home to Empoli on Friday night. The Granata have picked up just one point from their last six Serie A matches and have not won in any competition since the turn of the calendar year.

From his 17 matches in charge, Inzaghi has overseen three victories, four draws and 10 losses since replacing Paulo Sousa in October.

President Danilo Iervolino suggested that Inzaghi has all the necessary tools to keep the team up at his disposal during his interview on Friday.

“We have some strong defenders now and other players are returning, so with a complete squad we can compete for the victories we need. My staff and I are fired up, we have to keep believing,” Ierbolino said.

However, several Italian outlets in Italy on Saturday morning, including Calciomercato.com and TMW, indicate that Inzaghi’s time is running out.

In the event that he is moved on, Ballardini and Semplici, who have been dubbed survival specialists’ by Calciomercato, will be the first two names that Salernitana look at.
