Belgian national team midfielder Kevin de Bruyne expects that it is not long at all before Inter striker Romelu Lukaku can be back on the pitch.

Speaking in a press conference, as reported by FCInter1908, de Bruyne explained that the Nerazzurri striker is doing well in training with his teammates and that a return to the pitch should not be far away.

Lukaku has been working hard in training to get past a thigh injury which has been a problem for him for much of the first part of the campaign.

The 29-year-old has been aiming to make a return for the Belgian national team in the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Lukaku was not able to play for the Red Devils in their group stage opener against Canada.

However, the wait may not be much longer, and from de Bruyne’s perspective in training, the Inter striker looks to be just a step away from being fully ready.

“Lukaku is all but back for us,” the midfielder said, “just one more push and then he will be able to return.”\

“Maybe he will give us a boost, defenses will be more scared of us,” de Bruyne added.
