Besiktas have reportedly cooled their interest in signing Renato Sanches from Roma, largely because they are concerned at his injury record.

The midfielder is currently on loan from Paris Saint-Germain at a cost of €1m with an option to buy at the end of the season for €11m.

That will become an obligation if he plays at least 55 per cent of their matches in the season, but with a run of fitness issues, that already seems unlikely verging on impossible.

The Turkish transfer window closes tomorrow and it seems as if Besiktas have stopped trying to negotiate a deal.

According to Calciomercato.it, there are doubts on both sides about the idea of this transfer, as Besiktas are worried about the player’s injury record, while Renato Sanches is not sure about making another move.

The midfielder made just nine competitive appearances in the Roma jersey, for a grand total of 228 minutes of football, but did contribute a goal.
