Versatile wingback Carlos Augusto is happy to play in any position as long as he is able to help Inter Milan.

The Brazilian spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, after the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 Serie A win over Torino.

25-year-old former Monza wingback Augusto played in two positions for Inter this evening against Torino.

From the start, the Brazilian played on the left flank.

Augusto pushed forward and also got into central areas around the penalty area. He demonstrated the kinds of qualities in the final third that prompted Inter to sign him.

However, Augusto then moved back into the defensive line.

The removal of Alessandro Bastoni for Tajon Buchanan in the second half meant that the 25-year-old slotted into the former’s usual position on the left of the back three.

Naturally, that meant that Augusto had very different responsibilities on the pitch.

Rather than keeping the width and acting as an extra man in attack, Augusto was more disciplined in covering the defensive areas, and participating in the buildup phase.

Carlos Augusto: “Wingback Or Defender, Important Thing Is Helping Inter”

As far as his positional versatility at Inter, Augusto said that “We’re all always ready.”

“Regardless of the position we play, we all know the mechanisms of the team.”

Augusto said that “It’s great that I can play in two different positions, because it means that I can help the team.”

“I’m always ready to help out,” the 25-year-old added.

Of the team’s Serie A title celebrations after this afternoon’s match, Augusto said that “It’ll be a long day. There will be a lot of celebrating.”

And asked if he had brought his camera, Augusto remarked that “I took some pictures on the day of my derby. It’s in my backback now.”

“I’ll take some photos at the Duomo,” the Brazilian added.
