Brentford captain Christian Norgaard admits talks over a new deal will be held this summer.

The Dane has hinted his priority will be stay.

He told ViaPlay: "That is difficult to answer.

"There are two sides to it. I can easily see myself staying at the club for several years. Especially if we play on this shelf for the next few years. It's a great league to be a part of.

"But it is also this summer, which I see as the last window if I have to try out at a bigger club. I have a year left after the summer, and I have to talk to the club about their thoughts and get clarification.

"It's an exciting spring season, and it's an exciting summer with the EC, and I believe that a clarification must be made this summer.

"Whether I stay here for a longer number of years, which I will be really happy about, or whether the club says that you will be allowed to find a club that will pay this price for you.

"This summer's transfer window will show, and of course also the spring season, if I can continue to perform at a good level."
