Former Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez was admitted to hospital overnight after suffering chest pains.

The 40-year-old, who currently manages Argentinian side Independiente, spent the night at a clinic in Buenos Aires after seeking medical help.

Independiente confirmed Tevez’s hospital admission overnight and the initial results had been “satisfactory”. The club issued a post to fans via X, writing: “Our coach, Carlos Tevez, went to the La Trinidad Hospital in San Isidro with chest pain.

“They carried out the corresponding tests and they were satisfactory. Today he will continue with a series of tests scheduled in advance as part of a general check-up.”

After winning the Premier League title in both of his seasons with United, as well as the Champions League in 2008 and the League Cup in 2009, Tevez left Old Trafford and signed for Man City.

Tevez’s relationship with United fans turned sour as a result.

That doesn’t change the fact he as a brilliant player. Tevez was poorly represented as a player, with third party involvement, but still managed to have an incredible career.
