Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly and Trevoh Chalobah would be two of Inter’s top targets to replace Milan Skriniar during the summer transfer window.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the two Chelsea players are the players the Nerazzurri are aiming to sign to replace the Slovakian, but that they are also looking at several other possible candidates.

Former Napoli defender Koulibaly only joined Chelsea last summer, but could well be on his way back to Serie A already for next season.

According to the Gazzetta, the Blues could sell him in the summer if they miss out on the Champions League, whilst they would be willing to loan him out if RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol arrives.

The Nerazzurri would not be able to afford the Senegalese’s €10 million net per season wages from Chelsea, but could be hoping to find an arrangement with the Blues that would put his signing within reach.

Meanwhile, Koulibaly’s Chelsea teammate Chalobah is also a player very much on Inter’s radar, having already been targeted last summer as well.

Meanwhile, the Gazzetta report, the Nerazzurri are also looking at Atalanta’s Giorgio Scalvini, although the 19-year-old would cost no less than €40 million.

Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti, who is currently on loan at Lecce, is another name on Inter’s list, and they could offer the Blaugranas a loan deal which would see them cover a significantly larger part of the Frenchman’s wages than Lecce have been doing.

In terms of free transfer opportunities, the Gazzetta report that Eintracht Frankfurt’s Evan Ndicka and Roma’s Chris Smalling are two of the main names the Nerazzurri are looking at to replace Skriniar.
