Chelsea hero Joe Cole has sung the praises of Cole Palmer after his hat-trick in last night's win against Manchester United.

Palmer struck twice in injury-time for the 4-3 win.

Cole said when discussing the midfielder afterwards: "He's lifted this team on so many occasions. Because there are no experienced players around, you are looking for someone who's got something magical. It's like Jude Bellingham, when we watch him play we are like, that isn't a 20-year-old.

"You feel the same with Cole Palmer. He has just been remarkable this season and I would say, signing of the season. He's just taken this team by the scruff of the neck and said, you are my team and I am going to be the one who drags you through.

"How many people in the stadium thought when he stepped up for that penalty that he might miss this? Nobody. He was as cool as you like - brilliant."
