This is a Chelsea predicted lineup for their Premier League clash with Aston Villa on April 27. The Blues are coming into this one of an embarrassing 5-0 defeat to Arsenal on Tuesday, their second defeat on the bounce.

Chelsea Predicted Lineup vs Aston Villa in Premier League Clash

How Chelsea Have Lined Up Recently

Djordje Petrović remains the first choice goalkeeper and has rarely been benched since assuming the role of number one. Trevoh Chalobah, Thiago Silva, Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile, Malo Gusto, Alfie Gilchrist, and Marc Cucurella have all lined up in the back four at times.

Moisés Caicedo and Enzo Fernández have been the defensive midfield pivot of choice. Cole Palmer, Conor Gallagher, Noni Madueke, and Mykhailo Mudryk have all lined out in attacking midfield spots. Nicolas Jackson has been the sole striker.

Chelsea Recent Form and Tactics

Mauricio Pochettino has stuck resiliently to his 4-2-3-1 formation. After a lengthy unbeaten run in the league, although sceptics did note the weaker quality of opposition in that time, the team have now lost two on the bounce to Manchester City and Arsenal with the latter being a one-sided demolition.

After showing a lot of goalscoring ability, the side have now been blanked in two consecutive outings, with their defensive record not getting any better they’ll need to find their firepower again soon.

Chelsea Injuries to Consider

While the club will provide a full update on Friday, it currently looks like Pochettino will be missing most of the same players who missed the defeat against the Gunners. Palmer was missing due to illness but we have seen an illness tear through the squad recently, keeping Raheem Sterling out of action for multiple matches.

Per multiple new reports, including some from South America, Argentine midfielder Fernandez is set to undergo surgery and miss the rest of the campaign as he looks ahead to a Copa America run.

Romeo Lavia, Wesley Fofana, Reece James, and Levi Colwill have been long-term absentees. Lesley Ugochukwu, Robert Sanchez and Christopher Nkunu returned to partial training but likely won’t be fit to start. Ben Chilwell and Malo Gusto have not had a public diagnosis yet so their status is up in the air.
