Italy icon Giorgio Chiellini left Juventus after 17 seasons early in the transfer window, starting a new journey in Major League Soccer with Los Angeles FC. However, he still avidly follows the Bianconeri as the club experienced a decent start to the new season for the first time without the veteran center-back.

Chiellini spoke to Radio Bianconera (via Calciomercato) and revealed he still watches Juventus games from time to time.

“I can see almost all of Juve’s matches here. On Saturday, I saw the derby win against Torino and will be at the Stadium for Juve-Roma in December.”

He backed Gleison Bremer and Federico Gatti to continue manning the Bianconeri backline.

“I’m happy for Bremer. He and Gatti can become two great defenders of Juventus and make history.”

Chiellini thinks Derby d’Italia rivals Inter are favorites for the Scudetto despite their recent setbacks.

“Inter are the clear favorites. Juve are closely behind but then we’ll see. My future as an executive? I honestly don’t know. I should return to live in Turin next summer, and then we’ll see about the future.”

Chiellini left Juventus with 36 goals from 561 appearances.
