Former Inter Milan striker Christian Vieri believes that the Nerazzurri will be a force in both Serie A and the Champions League.

Speaking on his Twitch channel, via FCInterNews, Vieri gave the view that Inter can compete for trophies both domestically and in Europe.

Inter have already gotten their Serie A campaign underway, with four wins from four.

And they’ll be aiming to start things off in the Champions League in similar fashion. The Nerazzurri face La Liga side Real Sociedad in their opener in the competition tomorrow.

Last season, Inter were never really in the hunt for the Serie A title. Clearly the team’s early season form is an indication that they intend for that to change this time around.

And in the Champions League, it was a different story.

Inter reached last campaign’s final. Clearly doing so again won’t be easy, but the team will try. And maybe even do one better.

And for his part, Vieri believes that this Inter team are capable of fighting on both fronts.

Vieri: Inter Milan Can Fight On Serie A & Champions League Fronts

Reacting to the derby last weekend, Vieri said that “Inter are far stronger than Milan.”

“Last season I said they had the strongest midfield in Europe because they can all score goals,” he continued.

“Now they’ve also signed Frattesi, someone who loves getting forward into the area.”

“I’d reiterate that completely,” Vieri said. “Matches are won in the centre of the pitch.”

“And the second matter is that Thuram has made us forget all about Lukaku,” Vieri went on. “It’s as if he had never played for Inter.”

Regarding Thuram, the former striker predicted “For me he will score 16-18 goals.”

“Inter have a super team,” Vieri went on.

“From the goalkeeper all the way to the centre0forward, they have two starting players in every position.”

“They play good football and are a solid team,” Vieri said. “They deserved to win the derby.”

“Inter will fight to win the Scudetto and the Champions League.”
