This is a Chelsea predicted lineup for their clash with Liverpool in the final of the Carabao Cup on February 25. The Blues are coming into this one off the back of a 1-1 draw with Manchester City and are unbeaten since a string of 4-2 defeats to the Reds and Wolves.

Chelsea Predicted Lineup vs Liverpool

How Chelsea Have Lined Up Recently

Djordje Petrović has been the starting goalkeeper since mid-December and shows no signs of bring dropped. Ben Chilwell, Malo Gusto, Axel Disasi, Thiago Silva (now injured), and Levi Colwill have started in defence with injuries limiting the available options.

Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez have been the go-to double pivot in defensive midfield with Noni Madueke, Raheem Sterling, Cole Palmer, Conor Gallagher, Nicolas Jackson, and Christopher Nkunku sharing the starting spots in the front four.

Jackson tends to operate up front but he did play on the left against Aston Villa, a setup which could be replicated here as Palmer moves into the striker role to press the defenders alongside Gallagher.

Chelsea Recent Form and Tactics

Mauricio Pochettino has remained steadfast with his 4-2-3-1 base setup which can occasionally turn into a 4-4-2 when pressing. The results have been better since the defeat to Wolves with wins coming against Villa, Crystal Palace and a draw away at the Etihad, which almost feels like a win.

What should trouble Pochettino is his defence. His side are without a clean sheet in the past five attempts and have conceded a hefty 11 goals in their last five matches. Thankfully, they have been able to score themselves, finding the net in each of their last five games.

Chelsea Injuries to Consider

The latest injury update has some slightly positive news among the usual names on the sidelines. Club “legend” Silva is back in partial training alongside Marc Cucurella. Neither are likely to start if their fitness is in doubt with some question regarding whether they even make it to the bench for the cup final.

Benoit Badiashile, Carney Chukwuemeka, Wesley Fofana, Reece James, Romeo Lavia, and Lesley Ugochukwu remain absent with injuries.
