Martin Zubimendi is establishing himself as one of the best playmakers in the European football scene, and this has reportedly attracted the interest of AC Milan.

Calciomercato.com write how Zubimendi controls the game, dictates the tempo of play but is also tremendously effective in the defensive phase as well, helping out off the ball to give Real Sociedad tactical balance.

He also knows how to score goals too, given he has four this season in LaLiga. Barcelona tried to sign him for a long time before his extension with Sociedad, which was a true act of love from the boy towards the club he has played for since he was just 12 years old.

However, the 25-year-old also knows that the upcoming summer could mark the right time to move to a top club, as Real Sociedad continue to receive many calls.

Their response is very clear: the only way to land him will be by triggering the €60m release clause in his contract, which needs to be done in a single payment.

The Rossoneri are big admirers of Zubimendi, but their strong interest is destined to remain as that for the moment due to the high costs of the possible operation.

From a salary point of view, the Rossoneri would have no major problems in satisfying a request of around €4m net per season but the €60m asking price is too high for any Italian club.

Juventus are also very interested in the Basque playmaker after following him consistently this season but the release clause pushes him towards the Premier League, where Arsenal are in the front row among the interested clubs.
