Manchester United attacker Facundo Pellistri was linked with a move to Sheffield United last summer.

A move to the Blades never materialised. In fact, the Red Devils opted to keep the Uruguayan in and around the matchday squad due to injury issues earlier in the season. Erik ten Hag decided to send the 22-year-old on loan to Granada in the winter transfer window.

Now though, the Daily Mirror has reported that the former Sheffield United target will be departing Old Trafford again this summer, whether that be another loan or this time permanently.

Pellistri has provided a goal and an assist, with both coming against Barcelona, since completing his loan switch to Granada.

The 22-year-old has a year left on his Manchester United contract so the Red Devils may be looking to cash in on him. Pellistri will certainly pique the interest of several clubs because he does have some unique abilities.

Is it far fetched to suggest Sheffield United have a chance?

In an ideal scenario, Manchester United loan him out to a team like Sheffield United for example. Let him get a full season under his belt, contributing regularly. That would bring him up to the end of his contract and then Man United can assess him from there.

If Manchester United are only interested in a permanent deal, the Blades may still be in play. Having only been signed for £7 million and having 12 months left on his deal, he won’t command a large fee.
