Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matt Turner cost his team a goal during Saturday's 2-1 win over Manchester United.

A poor pass by the USMNT stopper was intercepted by Alejandro Garnacho, who teed up Marcus Rashford to equalize in the 78th minute.

Ex-United captain Gary Neville was commentating on the game for Sky Sports and did not hold back in his criticism of Turner.

Neville described Turner's blunder as a "scandal" and said that the 29-year-old was "useless with his feet".

The former right-back added: "Absolutely ridiculous, it really is."

Many fans felt that Neville had gone over the top with his criticism.

One tweeted: "Gary Neville going on like Matt Turner just murdered someone. It's weird."

Another added: "Gary Neville is so insulting. I get Matt Turner made the mistake but the remarks he makes are horrid".

Rashford's goal came 14 minutes after Nicolas Dominguez had fired Forest 1-0 up.

Forest then went on to win 2-1 after a late goal by Morgan Gibbs-White.

Neville produced a blunder of his own after Gibbs-White's goal when he appeared to forget the name of the keeper he had just spent 60 seconds slating.

"The most relieved man in the ground will be Matt Taylor," said Neville.

Turner then produced a brilliant save in added time to preserve his team's 2-1 lead.

Neville's response? He said: "Thankfully for Turner, it was right at him".
