Former A.C. Milan and Inter Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf praises goalkeeper Andrè Onana as an incredible talent that has not reached his full potential yet.
This in an interview with Italian broadcaster Amazon Prime’s TV show Cronache di Spogliatoio, as reported via Milan based Inter Milan news-site FCInterNews.
Clarence Seedorf was full of praise for André Onana, whom he coached whilst the national team coach of Cameroon , but warned that he still has to learn Italian.
André Onana has been linked with a move away from Inter this coming summer, with Chelsea being reportedly the club that leads the race to sign him.
“Maignan and him [Onana] have grown a lot. I had Onana when I was managing Cameroon, and oh my word he is incredible.
“He has a talent who that he is yet to fully express at its fullest. He has to learn the language well and other things, but he is adapting.
“Onana has fiery character, but he is calmer than he was before, let’s say he was more reactive in the past” Clarence Seedorf said.
The former Nerazzurri midfielder then spoke about his feelings for Inter, even though his best days of his playing career was at local rivals A.C. Milan.
“I have commented on games under the Inter sector of the stadium and there is a lot of respect. Respect in the sense that I gave all I could before moving on.
“I support Milan in this derby, but Inter gave me a lot and I have great respect for them,” said the former Dutch international.
The Champions League Milan Derby In 2003
Seedorf also discussed the last time that there was a Derby di Milano in the semifinal stage of the UEFA Champions League back in 2003 when, the Rossoneri went through thanks to the away goals rule.
“In 2003, we would have been happy with a 0-0 at home because of the away goals rule, but you couldn’t escape the tension.
“If Kallon scored, Inter would have been in the final. But goalkeepers matter and Abbiati played his part,” the former Milan midfield dynamo continued.

Clarance Seedorf spent two years with the Nerazzurri where he made sixty-four appearances and scored eight goals before moving on city rivals A.C. Milan.
Seedorf time at Inter is best remembered for scoring two screamers against Juventus in a classic 2-2 draw in the Serie A at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, in Milan’s San Siro district, during the 2001-2002 season.
