Former Nerazzurri striker Christian Vieri feels that Simone Inzaghi has come to understand what it means to coach Inter Milan.
Speaking on his Twitch channel, via FCInterNews, the former Italian international striker gave his thoughts on the changes that Inzaghi has undergone since taking over as Nerazzurri coach.
When Inzaghi joined Inter from Lazio in the summer of 2021, he already had a very strong reputation.
The coach had spent over five years in charge of the Biancocelesti’s senior team. During that time, he had guided the club from the Italian capital to Champions League qualification, as well as a Coppa Italia trophy.
However, the expectations at Inter would always be even higher.
Inzaghi has faced his share of criticism as Inter coach.
And there have been some suggestions that, whilst the 47-year-old is well adept at coaching teams of a certain stature, the Nerazzurri is not the right environment for him.
But for his part, Vieri believes that Inzaghi has figured it out.

Former striker Vieri said of Inzaghi that “He will never change his 3-5-2.”
“He needs to improve in communication, because at clubs like Inter, Milan, Juve, you can’t say something like ‘I put on a player to protect us on the counter,'” he continued.
“That was against Sampdoria. who were last in the table!” he continued.
“In this sense, he needed to grow. And I think he understood what that means,” Vieri suggested.
Of Inter’s win over Cagliari, Vieri said that “Inter always play well. The problem last season was that they still lost twelve matches.”
“But when they’re focused, they play well,” the former striker continued.
“In my opinion, for example, they deserved to win the Champions League.”
“I’m surprised when they drop points against smaller teams, though, which happened quite a bit last season.”
