On Friday, Kylian Mbappe announced what many have known for months: that he will be leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season. The 25-year-old is expected to join Real Madrid, although it’s not yet known when confirmation of that move will come.

Mbappe rejected Real Madrid in 2022 in favour of re-signing with PSG, but since then, his relations at the French champions have broken down, and this is especially the case with Nasser al-Khelaifi, the club’s chairman.

As per Diario AS, Mbappe asked al-Khelaifi to sign Aurelien Tchouameni, Robert Lewandowski and Milan Skriniar, as well as demanding that Zinedine Zidane was appointed as head coach. When none of those came to fruition, he notified PSG officials a couple of months later of his intention not to sign a new contract.

Excitement will be building at Real Madrid for Mbappe’s impending arrival. It remains to be seen when confirmation comes of his move to the Spanish capital.
