After Lazio and Juventus battled for months for Felipe Anderson, a third team emerged victorious in the race, as Palmeiras announced that the winger would join them at the end of the season.

“Out of respect for the team and its people who always supported me, I relay that I didn’t find an agreement to renew my contract and will therefore take another path next season. I’ve always proven my professionalism and commitment to Lazio with facts. I assure you that I will continue to do so until my final day here to honor this jersey. Thanks for everything.”

Felipe Anderson was insistently rumored to join Juventus, but Palmeiras swooped in late and persuaded the Lazio forward. His next deal will start on July 1st and run until December 31st, 2027.

The Bianconeri preferred not to take the final step in their pursuit so early in the transfer market, Alfredo Pedullà reports. They are still making evaluations and have more pivotal decisions to sort out first.

The Brazilian winger will wrap up an 11-year run in Europe in June. On top of the Biancocelesti, he starred for West Ham and Porto.

Our Take on Felipe Anderson, Juventus, and Lazio

It’s a bigger loss for the capital side than for the Old Lady, which needs to figure out who its coach will be and the future of many players before making additions.
