The Chicago Fire acquired veteran defender Chase Gasper from the Houston Dynamo on Tuesday.

The Dynamo received a third-round pick in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft in exchange, both clubs announced.

Gasper, 28, appeared in five MLS matches (three starts) with Houston in 2023.

He has two goals and one assist in 85 regular-season matches (71 starts) with Minnesota United (2019-22), LA Galaxy (2022) and the Dynamo.

"We're pleased to welcome Chase to the Club as we continue to prepare for the upcoming season," Fire sporting director Georg Heitz said in a news release. "Chase is a talented player who will provide depth and competition to our backline."

Gasper is under contract with Chicago through the 2025 season.
