Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli insists they are on track for their ‘objectives’ this season and will ‘confront ideas’ with Max Allegri over ‘future choices.’

The Coppa Italia semi-final 2nd leg kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).

The Bianconeri won the first leg 2-0 on April 2 with goals from Federico Chiesa and Dusan Vlahovic, so the Aquile need to win by two clear goals to force extra time, three to turn it around completely.

Inter have now won the Scudetto, Juve will try to claw back Milan in second place, but the focus now is on the Coppa Italia.

“Our objectives at the start of the season were very clear. We wanted to get back into the Champions League and focus on the Coppa Italia. We are in the running for both those targets, so tonight we hope to book the Final,” Giuntoli told Sport Mediaset.

Giuntoli pushed on Allegri future

Inevitably, the questions are always about the future of their coach, amid suggestions Allegri could be dismissed over the summer.

His contract runs to June 2025, so it was phrased a different way, asking if Juventus will renew his contract.

“This is a consideration we will make along with the coach after the end of the season. We will meet up, confront our ideas on the transfer market and future choices,” replied Giuntoli.

“We certainly had a dip in our league form, probably because we were cradling that Scudetto dream and everyone was giving 140 per cent, but it was not enough also due to some refereeing errors.

“The statistics show we are the only team where VAR never intervened in our favour.”
