Tottenham Hotspur have been hampered by awful injury issues over the last few weeks, contributing to the end of their unbeaten run in the Premier League. Spurs fans would have been alarmed to see Son Heung-min go down with an injury scare in South Korea’s recent 5-0 win over Singapore.

Tottenham Hotspur Captain Son Heung-min Gives Injury Update

Did Son Heung-min Pick up a Nasty Injury?

The South Korean forward seemingly picked up an ankle knock in the game, needing treatment after scoring a great goal.

Son decided to squash all the fears by reaffirming that he was totally fine and did not pick up any injury. He said: “We are making a team for the World Cup, I can’t give up a game just because I feel pain. If I can’t run anymore, then I can’t do anything about it but when I can run, I have to give 100% for the team. I am fine now, I don’t like to lie down [on the pitch] in the winter. At that moment [when he went down] I couldn’t feel anything on my foot. I’m fine, no injury.”

Tottenham Troubled With Major Injury Issues

The Lilywhites’ supporters will be relieved after hearing his reassuring comments confirming that he is totally fine after suffering an injury scare. The 31-year-old, described as “world-class” earlier this season, has scored eight goals in 12 Premier League games and is competing for the Golden Boot award.

Spurs have already seen their influential summer signing James Maddison ruled out for the rest of 2023 due to a foot injury. Defender Micky van de Ven is also out of action due to a hamstring injury he suffered against Chelsea. Richarlison is another absentee after having to undergo surgery. Ange Postecoglou will at least hope that none of his other key players get injured during the international break and can return in prime form for their upcoming match against Aston Villa on November 26.
