Piero Ausilio confirmed that Inter would add Piotr Zielinski and Mehdi Taremi but kept things close to the vest concerning their other plans, dismissing some recent rumors talking to DAZN and Sky during the Scudetto celebrations (via SOSFanta). He was quizzed about Joshua Zirkzee.

“I can just say that he’s a great player, and that’s it. We want to have the right number of options in each role. We have five strikers now, but I think they will be four at the end of the day, unlike some reports suggest. I like Albert Gudmundsson too, but you know the difficulties of doing certain types of deals in Italy. They are quality players, but that doesn’t mean we can sign them.”

Ausilio was also asked about their interest in Bento.

“We have Yann Sommer and Emil Audero, and there’s an option to keep the latter. We’ll evaluate in the next few days. We don’t rule out retaining him. He has done very well and is a great professional. We’ll assess him and other opportunities in Europe and South America.”

Ausilio hinted that some of their talents could be part of their squad next season.

“We monitor them all through our deputy director Dario Baccin and their scouts. There’s not just Valentin Carboni, but also Gaetano Pio Oristanio and Giovanni Fabbian. We have a clause to bring him back. We haven’t forgotten about our academy. It’s always a satisfaction to elevate a youngster to the first team and see him succeed like Federico Dimarco did.”
