Inter Milan reportedly remain optimistic about their chances of landing Benjamin Pavard from Bayern Munich despite encountering obstacles, while Japhet Tanganga and Perr Schuurs are the alternatives.

This has been another chaotic day for the Nerazzurri on the market. On one hand, the management succeeded in offloading Joaquin Correa who will join Marseille tomorrow. Alexis Sanchez will return as a replacement.

But on the other hand, the Serie A giants suffered a blow on the Pavard front. Despite reaching agreements with both the player and the club, Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel is standing in the way.

As we reported earlier, the German boss remains unconvinced about the possible replacements. Thus, he refuses to release the Frenchman.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Inter will remain optimistic for the next few days despite the recent hurdles.

As the source explains, the two clubs have found a formal agreement worth 30 million euros plus 2M as add-ons. However, this deal is subject to a condition: Bayern must first find a suitable replacement.

So as long as Tuchel doesn’t have a new competent defender at his disposal, he’ll continue to block the operation.

Inter Milan Still Hoping To Seal A Deal For Benjamin Pavard This Summer; Japhet Tanganga And Perr Schuurs Are The Alternatives

Nevertheless, Di Marzio reveals that Inter and Pavard have an agreement in principle for the future.

So if the Bundesliga champions don’t grant the French star passage to Milano this summer, he should end up joining Inter’s ranks anyway next summer as a free agent following the expiry of his Bayern contract.

Moreover, the journalist names Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga as a possible alternative in case the Nerazzurri miss out on Pavard this summer.

The other possible option would be 23-year-old Torino centre-back Perr Schuurs. But as the report explains, Inter won’t pursue these two defenders at the moment, at least not before giving up on Pavard.
